Haunted Happenings - Halloween 2008 at Salem, MA (Massachusetts)

Salem, MA has a longstanding tradition of organizing a highly popular fair on the Halloween night, keeping in line with its reputation for witch trials in the late 1600s to early 1700s.

Various attractions in Salem include:

1. The Salem Witch Museum; the Salem Witch House featuring guided tours and live reenactments of some witch era legends
2. The Witch Dungeon Museum featuring live reenactments of a Salem Witch Trial adapted from 1692 transcripts and recreated dungeons where alleged witches were condemned to die.
3. Salem Wax Museum of Witches and Seafarers with made-in-London wax figures of significant people from Salem's history.
4. Salem Witch Village themed after the superstitions surrounding witchcraft
5. New England Pirate Museum themed on tales about the famous Salem pirates.
6. The famous House of Seven Gables, the house that the famous novel was based on.
7. Ye Olde Pepper Companie, the oldest candy making factory in America.
8. The Salem Willows Park and
9. The countless other smaller road side theme shows involving witches/ghosts, etc.

People (especially witchcraft/Halloween enthusiasts) from across America congregate in Salem, MA during the Halloween week to participate in the week long Halloween themed activities in Salem, codenamed the "Haunted Happenings".
